The story of Delirious
by Mathias Stering on Sep 07, 2022
DELIRIOUS EYEWEAR is Italy's new shooting star in the eyewear market. The brand was recently praised by Vogue Italia, which recognizes young fashion and design talents who continue the Made in Italy tradition. Founded in 2012 by Marco Lanero, DELIRIOUS is quickly becoming one of Italy's youngest independent eyewear success stories. It all started when Marco was on holiday in northern Italy and came into contact with a craftsman with whom he made his first own spectacle frames. The bows attracted enormous attention both from friends and from strangers. Marco invested in an engraving machine and started experimenting himself and selling bows to people in his circle of acquaintances.
DELIRIOUS' thought has always been to design models of the highest quality that their customers love to wear, and has nothing to do with what logo adorns the frame. They only strive for refined craftsmanship where the finest materials are perfectly combined with the purity of form. Stylistically, Marco and his designers are not inspired by anything from our modern society. They strive to work freely, with an uninfluenced mind where their only role models are vintage collections full of character from previous centuries.
The manufacture of most DELIRIOUS frames takes place in Cadore, at the foot of the Dolomites, the home of the Italian eyewear industry. Recently they have also expanded their production to Japan for bows containing Japanese materials. Regardless of whether the production takes place at home in Italy or in Japan, they are carried out by carefully selected craftsmen who are responsible for the entire handmade production.
