Night lenses & Prevention of myopia
At Bågar & Glas, we also adapt night lenses (Ortho-K). Night lenses are a stable lens that reshapes the cornea while you sleep and allows you to see well during the day - completely without vision aids! They can also help slow down the development of myopia and are therefore particularly suitable for younger people with myopia in the family.
CAN I GET SHARP VISION AGAIN WITHOUT GLASSES, CONTACT LENSES OR LASER SURGERY?
With the help of night lenses, this is possible! The night lens is a stable contact lens with special properties that is used at night. While you sleep, the lens reshapes your cornea. When you wake up in the morning, you take out the lens and see well all day without using glasses or contact lenses.
ARE NIGHT LENSES AN ALTERNATIVE TO LASER SURGERY?
The correction created with the help of night lenses, unlike surgery, does not provide a lasting change. When you stop using the lenses, your vision will return. The night lenses give the same results as surgery, a clear vision without glasses or contact lenses but without the same risks.
HOW DO NIGHT LENSES WORK?
Night lenses reshape the cornea of the eye while you sleep so that you have clear vision the next day without correction. The lens has a special design that is designed for each individual eye. Already after the first night you will experience a noticeable change and as a rule you achieve full results after 1 to 4 weeks.
The effect of the night lenses lasts a minimum of 16 hours. The weaker the strength, the longer the effect.
WHO CAN USE NIGHT LENSES?
Night lenses can be used by people with mild to moderate myopia and refractive error (up to -4.50 D and refractive error up to -2.5 D).
People with eye diseases cannot be fitted with night lenses. At Bågar & Glas, we evaluate whether your eyes have the conditions to use night lenses.
HOW DO I GET NIGHT LENSES?
During your first visit to Bågar & Glas, a contact lens specialist will evaluate whether night lenses suit your eyes. At the next visit, you try on the lenses and receive thorough instructions on how to care for the lenses. You get a liquid pack specially suited for these lenses.
In the beginning, return visits take place once a week until the desired effect is achieved. After that, the checks take place every six months or as needed. The lenses are replaced once a year. This is to maintain optimal effect and health in the eyes. Contact us and we will be happy to tell you more.
