Mr. Hyman Moscot started his business in 1899 by selling glasses from a "push cart" in Manhattan, New York. In 1915 he opened his first store on Orchard Street. The company is run today by the fifth generation. Moscot frames have maintained their popularity through the decades largely due to their cool retro design and classic models.

MOSCOT is as much New York, and Lower East Side, as it gets. The family business has a history that stretches back over 100 years in Manhattan, and through five generations. When immigrant Hyman Muscot sold glasses directly from his wooden cart on Orchard Street in 1899, he was completely unaware that right then and there he was laying the foundation for what would become one of the world's most respected eyewear brands...
