The story of Peter and May

PETER AND MAY is a brand that has become synonymous with the Parisian spirit and nonchalant essence - something that dresses you with elegant modernity and confidence in your everyday style. In French, this is known as Allure .
PETER AND MAY was founded in 2014 by the Paris duo Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand. Both had worked in the high-end eyewear industry for over a decade before they together made the decision to go their separate ways and do something together. Laura's mother, who runs the luxury range of a well-known French optical chain, has of course made them aim at the more discerning and fashion-conscious clientele.
PETER AND MAY's frames are characterized by a design of relaxed modernity with attitude and quickly attracted attention both in the media and on the streets when they began to be fronted at highly regarded international retailers such as Colette, Moda Operandi and Dover Street Market.
PETER AND MAY's idea has since started to create a signature look with well-thought-out, stripped-down designs that signal modernity and creativity. "We want to reinvent ourselves with each new collection. Inspiration for all new frames is taken from our environment here in Paris, and all the younger influences and creative people around us. That's what helps us capture the feeling that exists right here and now in a pair of frames, to be worn tomorrow and every day.” The only limit and rule they have for the creation of the collections is the accuracy and balance between proportions.
