Oliver Peoples Cary Grant Collection

Oliver Peoples and the estate of Cary Grant collaborate to create the Cary Grant collection. This is the first time any brand has used the Cary Grant name before. And what a first time it is. We think it is a perfect match. And so does his daughter, Barbara Grant Jaynes.

Barbara Grant Jaynes describes her father wearing only simple, sophisticated and great quality eyewear. Matching that of the Oliver Peoples brands. The similarities don’t end there. Cary Grant is famous for his on screen roles in Hollywood films, California. The Oliver Peoples brand hails from California too.

This particular eyewear collection takes inspiration from Grant’s work in North by Northwest. Within the film he wears a striking pair of sunglasses. These sunglasses are the main inspiration. The shape is evident in the design of the Oliver Peoples collection.

Oliver Peoples have added some beautiful details to the design. These additions add a different level to the product to bring a unique sense the collection. This includes a C.G monogram on the temple tips, inspired by Cary Grant’s personal stationary collection.

Furthermore, the plaques on the end pieces aren’t the traditional Oliver Peoples shape. They are slightly different. This is a custom shape especially for this collection. They also add additional strength to the product. The wire core is also a custom Oliver Peoples logo wire core. It also holds a delicate filigree design.
